The 2024–25 season took the Vancouver Canucks on a roller coaster. Despite some low points, this season still had some positive things to reflect on. Let’s take a look at some of the positive matches of the 2024–25 regular season. First on the list is November 12 against the Calgary Flames

Many consider Jonathan Lekkerimäki to be the Canucks’ top prospect right now. The skillful sniper was picked 15th overall by Vancouver in the 2022 NHL Draft. Prior to this season, he spent time with Örebro HK and Djurgårdens IF. He made his AHL debut with the Abbotsford Canucks on March 30, 2024, nabbing his first goal on April 6, 2024. Seven months later, the top prospect made his NHL debut.

Lekkerimäki was called up by the Canucks on November 10, 2024, after playing seven games with Abbotsford. In this span of time, he scored five goals and two assists to register a point per game pace. He skated in his first NHL game on November 12, 2024, against the Flames, though his first NHL goal came the game after. During his first NHL game, Lekkerimäki played 14:07 and had two shots on net.

The match itself had more to talk about than just Lekkerimäki’s debut. During this game, Elias Pettersson tallied a goal and an assist, allowing him to pass Bo Horvat in all-time points as a Canuck with 421. With this effort, Vancouver ended up taking a 3–1 victory

Canucks 2024–25 Memorable Matches will be posted every Tuesday until June 11.
