    Skate For LA Strong, "A Celebration to Support the Fire Recovery Efforts in Los Angeles," will take place on February 23, 2025.

    Multiple Vancouver Canucks alumni have signed up to participate in the upcoming Skate For LA Strong, "A Celebration to Support the Fire Recovery Efforts in Los Angeles." The event, which is scheduled for February 23, will take place at Crypto.com Arena. According to the press release, "the event will also serve as a fundraising effort to benefit the LA Fire Relief Fund."

    The Hockey News - Canucks Team Predicts The 4 Nations Face-Off

    As mentioned, among the participants will be some members of the Canucks alumni. Kevin Bieksa, Alex Edler and Mark Messier will play in the single-elimination tournament and will be joined by Hockey Hall of Famer and current assistant General Manager Cammi Granato. The event will also include a celebrity presence, including Vancouver's own Cobie Smulders, who is part of the Canucks opening montage at home games. 

    The exhibition will feature four teams consisting of 13 players playing in a single elimination format. Each team’s roster will include a mix of celebrities, NHL Alumni and first responders. All available tickets for the event are being distributed throughout the LA Community to firefighters, first responders, fire victims and their families.

    Those wishing to watch the event will find it available on Sportsnet and other streaming platforms. The event starts at 3 pm PT and will also feature local first responders, as well as special musical performances. More information about the event can be found here.
