Artūrs Šilovs is having a post-season to remember. In 14 games, the 24-year-old has a 10-3-0 record, while posting a save percentage of 0.941. Thanks to his 26-save performance in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final, Šilovs' playoff run is now entering historic range as he is closing in on a Calder Cup Playoffs record.

Through his first 14 games, Šilovs has recorded five shutouts. That put him one behind former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Mika Noronen for the most in a single playoff run. According to the AHL Record Book, Noronen had six shutouts in 2000, when he led the Rochester Americans to the Calder Cup Final.

While the Abbotsford Canucks have had a number of players step up during the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs, Šilovs has easily been their MVP. He has allowed two goals on 98 shots in his last three games, and has recorded a shutout in each of Abbotsford's three series-clinching games this post-season. In the end, he is stepping up when his team needs him the most and showing how clutch he can be once the playoffs roll around.

Whether it is at the NHL, AHL or International level, Šilovs is showing that he has a clutch gene once the post-season begins.

Thanks to their 1-0 Game 2 victory, the Canucks head to Texas with a 2-0 series lead. With three straight away from home, Abbotsford will need to be on their toes if they want to end the Texas Stars' season before next Sunday. Puck drop for Game 3 is scheduled for Monday, June 2, at 5:00 pm PT from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
