Abbotsford Canucks goaltender Artūrs Šilovs has been named MVP of the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. The 24-year-old became the first goaltender in over a decade to capture the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy, and now joins an exclusive list which includes Robin Lehner, Michal Neuvirth and Carey Price. Šilovs picked up 16 wins during the post-season, while five shutouts were one short of the all-time record for a single playoff run.
Šilovs was on another level during the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. He posted a save percentage of .931 while also recording two assists. Over his 24 games, Šilovs made 672 saves, while recording a goals against average of 2.01.
While Abbotsford had plenty of standouts in the Calder Cup Finals, none shone brighter than Šilovs. He stopped at least 28 shots in all six games versus the Charlotte Checkers and made at least 35 saves in three games. Šilovs also had a save percentage of at least .900 in every game during the final, eclipsing the .930 mark four times.
