Canucks Boeser Snubbed From NHL Network's Top 20 Wingers Ranking For The 2024-25 Season

Brock Boeser's 40-goal regular season wasn't enough to warrant a spot on the list, according to NHL Network.

NHL Network has released their "Top 20 Wings Right Now" list, which features a very notable omission. Somehow, Canucks right winger Brock Boeser did not crack the rankings, despite scoring 40 goals and recording 73 points last season. While these lists are subjective, leaving Boeser off makes no sense, considering just how productive he was in 2023-24.

Starting with goals, Boeser's 40 ranked tied for ninth among all wingers in the NHL. He was also tied for third in power play goals and finished tied for second in hat tricks with three. Boeser was also one of the more productive goal-scoring wingers in the playoffs, as his seven goals ranked fifth among players designated as wingers by NHL.com.

As for points, Boeser's career high of 73 ranked tied for 16th among all wingers. Some of the players who were on the list that Boeser had more points than include Brad Marchand, Alex Ovechkin and  Travis Konecny. Lastly, Boeser's plus/minus of +23 was the best among right-wingers and ranked tied with Nils Höglander for third amongst all wingers in the NHL.

While there will always be a debate when these types of lists are published, omissions like Boeser should not be happening. Based on his play last season, he should have easily made the rankings, especially considering that there are multiple players listed who are not even a winger, according to NHL.com. At this point, it is clear that Boeser is not getting the respect that he deserves and should be able to show in 2024-25 why he is one of the top wingers in the NHL.
