The Vancouver Canucks have called up center Aatu Räty under emergency conditions ahead of their game on Monday against the New Jersey Devils. The call-up was required as both center Elias Pettersson and Nils Höglander left Saturday's game against the New York Rangers with injuries. While Rick Tocchet was unable to give specifics on the injuries, he did indicate that it was unlikely Pettersson and Höglander would be available for Monday's game.

Räty has spent this season split between the NHL and AHL. He has played 21 games for Vancouver, recording four points and averaging 9:30 minutes on the ice time. As for Abbotsford, Räty has played 41 games and leads the team in scoring with 39 points.

The Canucks continue their six-game road trip on Monday when they take on the Devils. This will be the second and final meeting between these two teams, with New Jersey posting a 6-0 victory back in October. Game time is set for 4:30 pm PT and will be available on Amazon Prime.

Love Nicky, but at times he is just too deflecting of his accomplishments. The fans have seen it, we know it : he had a part in Ovi's goal scoring success and setting him up with some great saucer passes and primary assists whether he likes any role in it or not! 😁
