At least one member of the Vancouver Canucks will be going to the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championships, as Conor Garland confirmed today that he’ll be representing Team USA at the international hockey tournament.
Latest From THN’s Vancouver Canucks Site:
“I love my country, and anytime you get to represent your country, I think it’s pretty special, grateful to play the game for a living,” Garland said of joining Team USA in Stokholm, Sweden and Herning, Denmark this summer.
This will be the third time Garland has represented Team USA at the World Championships. His first stint with Team USA was after the 202–21 season. During this tournament, he potted six goals and seven assists in 10 games played. His last appearance in the tournament was at the end of the 2022–23 regular season, where he also played with current Canuck Drew O’Connor.
“Obviously, love to be playing right now in the playoffs with this game, getting ready for it. But you know, we go over and try to keep working at being a better player come day. I think it's a huge, huge step in the process of being able to play later in the summer in big games. So it’s something I’ll enjoy, and I’m looking forward to it.”
