Video screen one of several new off-season enhancements in Canucks home arena

The Vancouver Canucks finally had the chance to show off one of their biggest off-season acquisitions on Saturday night. After three road games to open their National Hockey League preseason schedule, the Canucks hosted the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena.

That gave hockey fans their first look at the building's brand new video board which features wrap around screens and separate screens on the underside for fans sitting in the lower bowl.

The video screen debuted at last week's Laver Cup tennis event at Rogers Arena, but Saturday was the first opportunity for hockey fans to see it in operation. In addition to the video board, Canucks fans also had the chance to see a new digital ribbon that wraps around the facade between the upper and lower bowls of the building.
