Linus Karlsson has played a key role in the Abbotsford Canucks run to the 2025 Calder Cup Finals. The 25-year-old leads the Canucks with 17 points in 18 games, and will most likely lead the AHL in points once the Calder Cup is handed out. It is also likely that Karlsson will leave this post-season run with an AHL record, as he is on pace to break a Swedish goal-scoring record.

The most likely record that Karlsson will break is the most goals by a Swedish player in a single playoff run. This record currently sits at 10, and is held by Andreas Johnsson and Mikael Andersson. With Karlsson presently sitting at nine, it is very possible that he ties and then breaks the record during the Calder Cup Finals

Karlsson is also closing in on the all-time goals record by a Swedish player, which is currently held by Johansson with 16. For the Abbotsford center to break this record, he would need to score five goals during the Finals, as he currently has 12 in 30 career Calder Cup Playoffs games. While this record will be a challenge, it certainly should not be considered out of reach.

Lastly, if Karlsson has a massive performance in the Calder Cup Finals, he could close in on the all-time and single post-season records for points by a Swedish player. Both records are held by Johansson, who had 24 points during the 2018 playoffs and 30 in his career. In the end, Karlsson would need a 10-point performance in the Finals to set both records, which is a lot to ask considering the Charlotte Checkers have allowed just 21 goals in 12 games this post-season.
