Filip Chytil has been placed on IR by the Vancouver Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks have placed forward Filip Chytil on IR. The 27-year-old was injured during the first period of Thursday's pre-season game against the Edmonton Oilers. Chytil is dealing with an upper-body injury and has been placed on IR retroactive to September 24, 2026.
When meeting with the media GM Ryan Johnson said, "As nasty as that look. Came down on a shoulder and in more of a muscular strain of the shoulder. We are tending to that. He was in great spirits this morning. Unfortunate bounce for a guy that's been through so much. We're just evaluating right now. It'll be a week to week thing, but nothing at this point that is alarming. We're just glad he's okay after such a kind of unfortunate spill."
Chytil has dealt with his injuries throughout his Canucks career. Last season, he was limited to just 12 games, in which he scored three goals. Chytil has played 27 games with Vancouver since being acquired where he has scored five goals and recorded nine points.
