The Vancouver Canucks have signed Latvian winger Anri Ravinskis to a two-year, entry-level contract. Listed at 6'3", 201lbs, the 22-year-old spent last season in Finland playing for HPK and Ketterä. Most recently, Ravinskis represented his country at the 2025 World Championship, recording two points in seven games for Latvia.

In the press release, GM Patrik Allvin wrote, "Anri is a player our group has been watching closely this year in Finland and more recently at the World Hockey Championships in Sweden. Finding European free agents like Anri is a good way for our organization to improve its depth. We like his size and body type and look forward to helping him refine his skills and get used to the North American pro game."
Ravinskis does have some experience playing in North America. He spent the 2019-20 season playing for Toronto Red Wings U18 AAA in the GTHL U18 before moving to the QMJHL in 2021. During his two seasons with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Ravinskis played 98 games while recording 54 points.

Overall, Ravinski adds size and physicality to the Canucks prospect pool. He is currently signed to play next year in Liiga, but with Thursday's contract announcement, there is a good chance he will be moving to the AHL for the 2025-26 season. If he joins the Abbotsford Canucks next season, he should add some grit to the bottom six.
