Thatcher Demko was named the NHL's second star of the week.
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko has been named the NHL's second star of the week. Demko was fantastic over his three games, posting a 985 save percentage while recording a shutout. During his 130:33 of ice time, Demko stopped 64 of the 65 shots he faced, which included all 31 against the Colorado Avalanche and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After a slow start, Demko is starting to look like his old self. He has allowed five goals in his last five starts and is now 6-6-3 on the season. As for the shutout, it was Demko's ninth of his career and first since January 22, 2024.
The 4 Nations Face-Off could not have come at a better time, as Demko left his last start with an undisclosed injury. According to Rick Tocchet, the injury happened during the Canucks 2-1 win over the Maple Leafs and is not related to the knee. At the moment, no timetable for Demko's return is available.
