Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers is skating in his 1,000th career game in the NHL tonight.
The 6'8 defenseman was drafted 12th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2008 and won the Calder Trophy in 2010 as the Rookie of the Year. Myers' time with the Sabres ended at the 2015 trade deadline when the Winnipeg Jets acquired Myers. He eventually signed with the Canucks in 2019.
Myers played for the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL and became the third defenseman from the junior club to have played 1,000 games. The other two players are Alex Edler and Luke Schenn, both of whom played for the Canucks.

Myers will become the NHL's 399th member of the 1,000 games played club. Tonight will be Myers' 365th game for the Canucks, tying him with the Sabres for the most played for a single team in his career.
In 364 games for Vancouver, Myers has 19 goals and 87 assists.
Trevor Linden, Henrik Sedin, and Daniel Sedin remain the three players who played over 1,000 games as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
The Canucks face the Philadelphia Flyers tonight on the road.
