Vancouver acquired Brännström from the Colorado Avalanche on Oct 6 for Tucker Poolman and a fourth-round pick. After clearing waivers, he was sent to the AHL, where he played twice for the Abbotsford Canucks, recording three assists. Initially drafted 15th overall in 2017 by the Vegas Golden Knights, Brännström is a left-shot defenceman who has experience playing on the right side.
