Former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larson was fined by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for interference.

Former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larson was fined by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for interference.

When the Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning on Oct. 21, Ekman-Larsson caught forward Jake Guentzel up high in a hit away from the puck.

Now playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, OEL has found the game that the Canucks wanted him to play when he was acquired. He won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last season after signing with them as a UFA because the Canucks bought out the remainder of his contract.

Ekman-Larsson has four assists in six games and leads the Maple Leafs players in time on ice. He is also quarterbacking their top powerplay unit.
