Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet is on the coaching staff for Team Canada at the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off, and he agrees with Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid that Sidney Crosby should be the captain.

"When I went to the Four Nations Summit, I remember Doug Armstrong said it's unanimous. All the big guys said that Sid should be the captain; it is not even just McDavid," Tocchet said. "I think he's the, quote, unquote, godfather of that team."

Crosby is seen throughout the NHL as one of the greatest players ever. His achievements are remarkable. This season, Crosby surpassed 1600 points. Tocchet praised the Pittsburgh Penguins character and explained why he thinks he is the only one on Team Canada who wants to wear the 'C.'

"I don't think anybody would want to wear the 'C' other than Sid because of his approach to the game. What he means to the game, and what he means to his teammates," Tocchet said. "Anytime you mention top players, he's still there at 37; it's amazing. I have so much respect for him and the way he plays and approaches the game."

Canucks forward J.T. Miller could play against Crosby at the Four Nations Face-Off but has a ton of respect for the Penguins captain as a Pittsburgh native.

"I look up to him. [I am a] Pittsburgh guy. Since I was 10 or 12 years old, watching him come into the league and be one of the best players in the game for his whole career, and I feel like he just gets better and better. It's pretty amazing," Miller said.
