Linus Karlsson and Arshdeep Bains both hit career milestones this past weekend.
Not only did the Abbotsford Canucks have a dominant weekend, two of their top players recorded AHL milestones. Linus Karlsson became the second player in franchise history to record 50 goals, while Arshdeep Bains became the fourth player in franchise history to record 100 points. Both Vancouver Canucks prospects hit the milestones on Saturday as they each recorded multi-point nights in a 6-1 victory over the Colorado Eagles.
Latest From THN's Vancouver Canucks Site:
Karlsson's 50th career AHL goal came midway through the third while Abbotsford was on the power play. During the game, he also recorded six shots, which tied his season high. With the three-point weekend, Karlsson also moved into second on the Canucks all-time points list and is now just five points away from tying Sheldon Dries, who sits first with 118 points.
As for Bains, he hit the 100-point mark by recording the secondary assist on Karlsson's 50th goal. Bains finished Saturday night with a goal, two assists, and four shots on goal. An undrafted free agent, Bains is now up to seven points in eight games and joins Karlsson, Dries and John Stevens as the only four players in franchise history to reach the century mark.
Abbotsford continues their six-game homestand on Friday when they take on the Manitoba Moose. The Moose have a roster full of young talent, including Chaz Lucius, Tyrel Bauer, Nikita Chibrikov, as well as former Canucks defenceman Ashton Sautner. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm PT.
