Of the over 40 players to receive votes, the only player from the Vancouver Canucks on this year's list was Pius Suter. The Swiss center received one fifth-place vote, which was also the first of his career. Suter was arguably one of the Canucks most consistent forwards this season as he posted career highs in goals (25) and points (46), while helping Vancouver establish one of the best penalty killers in the league.
As for former Canucks, four skaters received votes this year. Bo Horvat and Elias Lindholm were each given one fourth-place vote, while Nic Dowd received two fifth-place votes. Ilya Mikheyev also received a fifth-place vote, finishing tied with six other players, including Suter.
Suter does not have a contract for next year and is projected to become a free agent on July 1. The 29-year-old has spent the last two seasons recording 75 points in 148 games. Suter is expected to receive a long-term deal this off-season, with AFPAnalytics projecting his next contract at four years with a cap hit of $4,983,053.57.
