The Vancouver Canucks enter the 2025 NHL Entry Draft with a pick in each round. Leading up to the draft day, we at The Hockey News will be profiling a different prospect who the Canucks could take with each of their picks. Today's prospect is Halifax Mooseheads left winger Shawn Carrier, who Vancouver could select 207th overall.

Carrier is a physical winger who has mastered the art of getting under his opponent's skin. Listed at 5'10", 181 lbs, the 18-year-old also showed this season that he can contribute offensively over an entire season, as he recorded 44 points in 59 QMJHL regular-season games this year. Overall, Carier is an intriguing prospect as he seems to have a never-ending motor and, as mentioned, is a pain to play against.

Carrier's game is centered around physicality. He is often the first player in on the forecheck, and will ensure he can get a piece of of the opposition in order to wear them down. Carrier is also not shy about crashing the net, and regularly is in the center of post-whistle scrums.

While Carrier does have some playmaking ability in his game, his biggest strength is his ability to get pucks on net. Whether along the wall or in the slot, he is always looking at ways to get shots on net and force the opposing goaltender to make a save. Carrier can also provide a strong net-front presence and has shown that he can win positioning battles against larger defenders.

The next step in Carrier's development will be his puck-handling skills, especially in the transition game. While Carrier does excel at zone entries, getting the puck out of the defensive zone was an issue for him this season. If Carrier can become a stronger puck carrier, it could open up more avenues for him in both the transition game and how he generates scoring chances in the offensive zone.

Carrier is the type of prospect the Canucks should be looking to add in the seventh round. He has a solid base when it comes to his overall attributes and has shown throughout the season that he will do whatever it takes to win. Overall, if available, he would be a smart addition to Vancouver's prospect pool.
