    May 15 marks the seventh day of the 2025 IIHF World Championships, which means the preliminary games of the tournament are officially over halfway done. At this moment, all four members of the Vancouver Canucks are slated to take part in the quarterfinals, though this could still change by the end of May 20.     Filip Hronek was the lone Canuck in action today, helping Czechia along to a dominant 6–1 victory against Hungary. While Czechia got off to a 2–0 lead by the end of the first period, they increased their total by tallying three goals in four minutes during the third period. In the winning effort, Hronek had one assist and played 18:14 of the game including a team-high 7:01 in the second period. With the win, Czechia jumps back up to first in Group B with 11 points in four games. They are trailed by Switzerland (10), Germany (9), and USA (8).
