Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports - Vancouver Canucks Claim Jiří Patera Off Waivers From The Boston Bruins

Jiří Patera is back with the Vancouver Canucks after the organization claimed him off waivers from the Boston Bruins. Patera was originally claimed off waivers by Boston on October 2, spending five days with the organization. Patera can now be sent directly to the AHL, which should be announced later today.

The Canucks signed Patera on July 1 to a two-year contract worth $1.55 million. In eight career NHL games, he has posted a record of 3-3-1 with a .902 save percentage and a goals-against average of 3.57. Patera is expected to play a significant role for the Abbotford Canucks this year as he and Nikita Tolopilo battle for the starters role.
