The Vancouver Canucks (30-11-4) became the first team in the NHL to hit 30 wins after a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes (21-19-3). With the win, Vancouver improved their record when leading after two periods to 27-0-1 and remained one of two teams that have collected at least a point in all games where they are holding the lead heading into the third period. The victory also means Rick Tocchet tied Bruce Boudreau for 11th on the franchise's all-time wins list with his 50th win behind the bench in Vancouver.

This was an exciting game where the Canucks showed they can match the physicality of the opposition while also standing up for their teammates. The biggest positive, arguably, was the power play, as it looked dangerous and scored in back-to-back games for the first time since Dec. 12 and 14. While there were some mistakes, this was a solid win and one that showed how strong Vancouver can be defensively when everyone buys into head coach Rick Tocchet's system.

Here are Canucks captain Quinn Hughes' postgame comments:

"It's a good win for us. I think we came out ready to go in the first period and in the second. Think we were a little fatigued there probably physically, mentally but grinded one out in the third. I thought we played really good shut down hockey in the third... team hockey. We will take the two points and move on. Obviously, Saturday is a big game."

    Canucks Next Opponent

Up next for Vancouver will be a highly touted matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs. This matchup could feature plenty of offence as these two teams both find themselves in the top five when it comes to goals this season. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM PT from Rogers Arena.
