On Monday morning, the NHL announced that Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson was named First Star of the Week. Between Jan. 8 and 15, he recorded nine points in five games and became the third player in NHL history to record the game-winning goal in fourth straight games. He was also named to the NHL All-Star Game for the fourth time in his career and will be one of six Canucks to participate in the event this season.

Now up to 57 points in 43 games, Pettersson had some incredible performances over the past week. His best performances came against the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, where he recorded two goals and four points in each. In the process, he moved into a tie for second place with Henrik Sedin, Petri Skriko and Alexander Mogilny on the franchise's all-time list for 4+ point games with ten in his career. He also moved into sole possession of 10th on Vancouver's all-time list for 3+ point games with 32.
