The Canucks look to end the first half of the season with a victory over the Islanders.

The Vancouver Canucks (26-11-3) head to Long Island on Tuesday looking for the season sweep of the New York Islanders (18-11-10). These two teams already met once this season, with Vancouver pulling off a 4-3 overtime victory in Bo Horvat's first game back at Rogers Arena. After a thrilling victory last night against the Rangers, the Canucks will need to be ready to go up against a rested Islanders team that hasn't played since Saturday.
Arguably, the biggest question going into this game from Vancouver's side is how Casey DeSmith will look in the net. The Canucks backup hasn't played since Dec. 28, when he stopped 21 of 25 shots against the Philadelphia Flyers. He has come up big for Vancouver in his 12 games this season and will need to be sharp against a New York team that has scored four or more goals in two of their last three games.
Players to Watch
Brock Boeser
Brock Boeser has been on fire since "the lotto line" was put back together. In two games, he has five points and scored his 25th of the season last night against the Rangers. Already up to 44 points on the season, he should have plenty of opportunities against a team that is giving up the second most shots per game in the NHL this season.
Mathew Barzal
It is safe to say the pride of Coquitlam loves to play against the Canucks. In ten matchups to date, Mathew Barzal has 14 assists and 17 points. Currently, on a three-game point streak, he is on pace to tie his previous career high set back when he beat out Boeser for the Calder Trophy in 2018.
