Another night, another shutout for Artūrs Šilovs. The Abbotsford Canucks goaltender added to his already impressive 2025 Calder Cup Playoff run on Friday, with a 22-save shutout over the Colorado Eagles in Game 1 of the Pacific Division Final. With the victory, Šilovs now has back-to-back shutouts and leads all AHL goaltenders with three perfect outings this post-season.

Why A Reunion Between Brad Shaw And The Vancouver Canucks Makes Sense
Šilovs has made a name for himself as a big-game performer. Last season, he helped the Vancouver Canucks make it to Game 7 of the second round, while the year prior, he backstopped Latvia to a Bronze Medal at the World Championship. Despite only being 24, Šilovs continues to show he has that clutch gene that all teams need from their goaltender in the playoffs.

Over his last three games, Šilovs has only allowed one goal on 77 shots. The last player to beat him was Coachella Valley Firebirds' Ryan Winterton, who scored at the 3:24 mark in Game 3 of Abbotsford's second-round series. Overall, Šilovs has allowed one goal or fewer in five of his last six starts, as he has helped lead the Canucks on their longest playoff run in franchise history.
Šilovs' numbers are even more impressive when you look at his entire 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs run. In eight games, he has a 1.50 GAA, as well as a save percentage of .942. Šilovs has also made 180 saves while only allowing 11 goals against.
At this point, Šilovs has not just been Abbotsford's MVP, but arguably the best player during the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks first in most goaltender categories among goalies who have played at least five games and hasn't allowed a goal in over 135 minutes. If Šilovs can keep performing as he has, there is a good chance that the Canucks could make even more history this year.
