Former Vegas Golden Knights' forward William Carrier is set to play his first game against his former team with the Carolina Hurricanes in town.

Carrier joined the Golden Knights organization in 2017 when he was selected from the Buffalo Sabres in the expansion draft. He went on to play 372 games, scoring 53 goals and 99 points, becoming a Stanley Cup champion and etching himself in franchise history.

During his Golden Knights tenure, Carrier was a staple in the team's bottom six, killing penalties and adding speed to a big forward group. With the Golden Knights nearing the cap limit this offseason, it was a guarantee that Carrier would be moving on and he signed a six-year deal worth $12M with the Hurricanes.

Through 13 games, the 29-year-old has scored one goal and added two assists but his speed and play style have been a perfect fit with his new team. The Hurricanes are known for being tough to play against due to their constant pressure and attacking nature in transition. This style of hockey fits perfectly with what Carrier's strengths are.

With the Hurricanes in Vegas tonight, Adin Hill is being given the crease despite starting the previous three games and Ilya Samsonov being a full participant in practice. Across from him will Pyotr Kochetkov. The 25-year-old Russian is 7-1-0 in his first eight starts of the season.

The Golden Knights will be without Mark Stone once again as he nurses a lower-body injury while Nicolas Hague and Victor Olofsson remain on the IR injuries as well.

    Golden Knights projected lineup:

    Barbashev-Eichel-Roy
    Howden-Hertl-Dorofeyev
    Pearson-Karlsson-Holtz
    Rondbjerg-Schwindt-Kolesar

    Hanifin-Pietrangelo
    McNabb-Korczak

    Hurricanes projected lineup:

    Svechnikov-Aho-Roslovic
    Robinson-Kotkaniemi-Necas
    Martinook-Staal-Jarvis
    Carrier-Drury-Blake

    Slavin-Burns
    Orlov-Chatfield
    Gostisbehere-Walker

Puck drop is at 7:00 P.M. PST at T-Mobile Arena.
