The Vegas Golden Knights will host the Colorado Avalanche in the 2024-25 season opener.

The Vegas Golden Knights will host the Colorado Avalanche in the 2024-25 season opener.

All the moves in the offseason, the hard work in training camp and the experiments in pre-season have all led up to the beginning of the regular season. A disappointing end to the 2023-24 season can be forgotten as the Golden Knights embark on new challenges with different faces but the same end goal.

Victor Olofsson, Alexander Holtz and Tanner Pearson will all make their Golden Knights' debut and will be looking to make a lasting impression on their teammates and the fanbase.

Elevated roles will follow players like Pavel Dorofeyev and Ivan Barbashev. The expectations for players such as Jack Eichel, Noah Hanifin and Adin Hill are as high as they've ever been.

The Golden Knights will be taking on a star-studded Colorado Avalanche team that is missing a few key parts of their lineup. Nonetheless, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar and Mikko Rantanen are all superstars more than capable of winning games on their own. The Golden Knights will need to be sharp defensively and on their toes whenever those three are on the ice.

Tonights projected Golden Knights lineup is:

    Olofsson-Eichel-Stone
    Dorofeyev-Hertl-Holtz
    Barbashev-Roy-Brisson
    Pearson-Howden-Kolesar

    Theodore-Pietragenlo
    Hanifin-Hague
    McNabb-Whitecloud

    Hill
    Samsonov

    Avalanche's projected lineup

    Drouin-MacKinnon-Rantanen
    Kovalenko-Mittelstadt-Ritchie
    Wood-Colton-O'Connor
    Kelly-Ivan-Kiviranta

    Toews-Makar
    Girard-Manson
    de Haan-Malinski

    Georgiev
    Annunen

Puck drop is at 7:00 P.M. PST at T-Mobile Arena
