The Vegas Golden Knights will be looking to replicate their performance in Game 6 into Game 7 and they are starting that by keeping the same lineup as last game.
Defensively the Golden Knights were brilliant in Game 6. They limited the Dallas Stars' chance and did a great job of clearing the front of their net. They were first to almost every rebound and made life difficult for the Stars all game.
According to MoneyPuck, the Golden Knights held the Stars to just 2.84 expected goals.
The forward lines were very effective despite scoring just one goal at 5v5. The first line centred by Jack Eichel was able to get their chances and many came off of passes down low by Tomas Hertl.
The William Karlsson line wasn't able to generate much offensively but HC Bruce Cassidy is likely perfectly fine with it. Their job is to be sound defensively and that's what they did in Game 6.
Zach Whitecloud and Alec Martinez were the only defenseman in Game 6 to not play at least 20 minutes. Alex Pietrangelo stepped up in a massive way for the Golden Knights. He was moving the puck efficiently, stopping the rush early and breaking up the Stars' cycle routinely. After his mistake last game, the veteran needed to step up.
Adin Hill will make his third straight start in goal and after his heroics on Friday, he's every bit deserving of it. He picked up his third career playoff shutout and will need a similar performance on the road in Game 7.
Puck drop is tonight a 4:30 P.M. PST at the American Airlines Center. The winner will move on to play the Colorado Avalanche in the second round of the playoffs.
