The Vegas Golden Knights will host the NHL's league leaders, the Winnipeg Jets, in an evening tilt.
The Golden Knights enter tonight's game after a 2-1 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche. They currently hold a three-point lead in the Pacific Division over the Calgary Flames.
The Jets are the Central Division leaders, holding a three-point lead over the Minnesota Wild. The Jets are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
Tonight's game is a battle between two of the league's best, containing star players who can play heavy, physical games. The Jets are scoring the third most goals per game, own the best power play and allow the second fewest goals per game. Connor Hellebuyck is having another Vezina calibre season and is proving that he is the NHL's best goaltender.
For the Golden Knights to come out on the winning end in their return home, they'll need their second-ranked power play to remain hot and their fifth-most goals-per-game offence to click.
The Golden Knights and Jets will face off again in a couple of weeks and tonight's fixture could be considered a tone-setter. The two teams are familiar with one other, meeting in the playoffs before, most recently in 2023.
