The Vegas Golden Knights travel to San Jose, Calif. for their game against the San Jose Sharks 7:30 p.m. Thursday at SAP Center.

The Golden Knights started the season off on the right foot with a 4-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken. Vegas, however, will be without Brett Howden (suspension) and William Carrier (upper-body) injury.

Last season, the Golden Knights won the season series with the Sharks 2-1-1 and overall hold a 20-2-5 mark against the Sharks.

"We talked about it yesterday. We had a quick meeting. We had an optional skate. We've gone through a lot recently," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. "It's just keep building your game. It's one game at a time. We're a long way from where we want to be. We played well enough to win the other night. Did some things well. Did some things we want to correct. We do every game and hopefully, looks a little better tonight."
