Jonathan Marchessault scores twice, while Jiri Patera makes 35 saves in winning effort.

Jonathan Marchessault scored twice, while Jiri Patera made 35 saves in the Vegas Golden Knights' 5-4 shootout victory against the San Jose Sharks.

"They were pretty resilient. We know that from their past games, they've done a good job. They came back in that game. That's unfortunate for us, but I was never really nervous," Marchessault said. "I think we always have the team to be able to beat them if we just play the right way, even on a back to back. Tonight we just played the right way and we're able to get two points."

Chandler Stephenson and Brayden McNabb also scored, while Jack Eichel and Marchessault scored in the shootout.

The Golden Knights improved to 19-5-5 on the season and will return to the ice on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames.
