ESPN released its top 100 players for the 2023-24 season, and the Vegas Golden Knights have four players in the top 100, and Jack Eichel was named a top 10 player.
Eichel moved up 16 spots to a top-10 spot. His performance last season in the postseason solidified his spot as one of the top players in the league. Eichel has grown into an elite two-way center and is only getting better under Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy.
Cassidy called him a complete player.
“He’s a high-plus player. His metrics were all good,” Cassidy said. “Just watch him. Use your eyes. You can see he covers 200 feet as well as anybody, goal line to goal line.”
Alex Pietrangelo (84), Jonathan Marchessault (59), Mark Stone (38) were also listed in the top 100 players.
Pietrangelo moved up 11 spots from his 2022-23 ranking. The assistant captain scored 54 points last season. He is a vital part of the Golden Knights roster, especially on the blue line. He was one of the ice-time leaders and plays in all situations.
Marchessault was a big jumper, going form an honorable mention to No. 59. His playoff performance had much to do with this leap in ranking.
Stone moved up four places to No. 38. The captain probably should be ranked higher, but his injury history likely contributed to the ranking. If he plays a full season, or close to it, he will likely make another leap in the 2024-25 rankings.
