Knights get new ECHL affiliate in Tahoe Knight Monsters; will begin play this season.

On Wednesday Evening the Golden Knights announced a multi-year affiliation agreement with the Tahoe Knight Monsters of the ECHL.

The Knight Monsters were awarded an expansion franchise in July of 2023 and will begin play in the upcoming 24-25 season. The Knight Monsters will be located in Stateline, NV and will play in the brand new Tahoe Blue Event Center. The Knight Monsters will also serve as the affiliate of the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL.

The Knights previous ECHL affiliate had been the Savannah Ghost Pirates. Having their ECHL affiliate now being in the same state as their affiliate AHL and NHL clubs it will certainly be an advantage for the Golden Knights. When speaking of their new affiliate agreement, Knights GM Kelly McCrimmon highlighted the advantages.

“Two critical goals in our organization are to develop strong hockey players and grow the game of hockey in Nevada,” said McCrimmon. “Our new partnership with Tahoe ensures that our prospects will progress in a first-class environment, and our Hockey Operations personnel will work with a great business staff to bring an exciting product to a new fanbase. We are very pleased to welcome the Knight Monsters here to Nevada.”

The first head coach in the Tahoe Knight Monsters history will be Alex Loh. Loh had previously served as interim head coach of Vegas’ previous ECHL affiliate, the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
