Golden Knights Place Forward On Injured Reserve; Activate Defenseman From LTIR

The Vegas Golden Knights have placed forward Nicolas Roy on the injured reserve and have activated defenseman Ben Hutton from the long-term injury reserve.

The Vegas Golden Knights have placed forward Nicolas Roy on the injured reserve and have activated defenseman Ben Hutton from the long-term injury reserve. 

Roy has been out of the lineup since Dec. 15 with an upper-body injury and has now been placed on the IR, retroactive to Dec. 16, allowing him to return at any time.

The 27-year-old has been a Swiss army knife for the Golden Knights, playing up and down the lineup and on the wing and at centre. His versatility has allowed them to manage some of the prior injury issues they have dealt with. 

Hutton has been activated from the LTIR after he suffered an upper-body injury against the Washington Capitals on Nov. 17. The 31-year-old has been serving as the team's eighth defenseman as a depth piece replacing injured defenders. His ability to seamlessly rejoin the lineup when called upon is a valued asset with the Golden Knights and something that has been praised many times by his teammates and the coaching staff.

With all eight Golden Knight defenders healthy at the moment, the Golden Knights have the luxury of depth that very few teams have in the NHL.
