Jonathan Marchessault, an original misfit has signed a five-year, $5.5M contract with the Nashville Predators.

The Predators have been busy today. After signing two-time Stanley Cup winner Steven Stamos, the Predators have signed another cup winner in Marchessault.

A tough pill for the Golden Knights and the fans to swallow as they watch their franchise leader in goals, assists, points and games played leave their franchise. 

The 2023 Conn Smythe winner will be joining a Predators roster that had a strong season last year and has the cap space to bolster their lineup. 

In what can now be considered his final season as a Golden Knight, Marchessault scored 42 goals and 69 points. He leaves the organization with 514 games, 192 goals, 225 assists and 417 points under his belt. 

Joining the likes of Ryan O'Reilly, Filip Forsberg, Roman Josi and Juuse Saros, the Predators have added skilled veterans to an already talented lineup. They have young prospects who are also ready to make the jump and be key contributors. 

The Golden Knights have been quiet to start free agency but with multiple roster spots to fill, GM Kelly McCrimmon will need to work some magic to complete the roster.
