Sportnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that Adin Hill and the Golden Knights are nearing two-year deal, worth $4.9 million per season.

Adin Hill is reported to be close to reaching a deal to stay with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that the potential two-year deal will be worth $4.9 million per season. The amount more than doubles Hill’s previous AAV of $2.125 million.

Hill won 11 of his 14 career Stanley Cup Playoff starts, posting a .932 save percentages in 16 appearances in the postseason – which was the best among playoff goalies. He also appeared in 27 games in the regular season with a 2.50 goals-against average and .915 save percentage – all career highs.

The reported re-signing of Hill pretty much closes the door on the team re-signing Ivan Barbashev, who had a strong season after being traded to Vegas at the trade deadline.

It also raises questions on what will happen to Robin Lehner, whose AAV is $5 million.

The team will also have a few restricted free agents to sign, so it marks just the start of a busy offseason for the Stanley Cup Champions.

At least, if the deal goes through and made official, the questions in net might be finally be answered.
