31-year old goalie has not played a game since April 3, 2022.

LAS VEGAS – Robin Lehner will begin the season on long-term injured reserve, Vegas general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced on Thursday.

Lehner has not played a game since April 3, 2022 – a 3-2 overtime victory against the Vancouver Canucks. He was later ruled out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

He then missed the 2022-23 season, following hip surgery and has not been active since.

Since Lehner’s injury, the goaltending position has been a carousel for Vegas.

Last season, they used five goaltenders (Logan Thompson, Adin Hill, Laurent Brossoit, Jonathan Quick, Jiri Patera) en route to winning the Stanley Cup.

The Golden Knights will begin this season with Hill and Thompson with Patera acting as the emergency goalie.
