The United States moved to 2-0 in the Olympics on Saturday, as the Americans overcame a 2-1 first-period deficit to defeat Denmark, 6-3.
In the process, two Golden Knights scored for the Americans, with forward Jack Eichel and defenseman Noah Hanifin scoring back-to-back goals in the second period - seven minutes apart - to give the U.S. a 4-2 lead.
Also scoring for the Americans were Matt Boldy, Brady Tkachuk, Jake Guentzel and Jack Hughes.
Hanifin's goal held up as the game-winner, while Eichel also had an assist on Tkachuk's goal.
Eichel, who is on the same line with Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, now has three assists in the Olympics.
Eichel scored off his own faceoff win a minute after setting up Brady Tkachuk's goal, while Hanifin's shot slipped past Mads Sogaard and trickled past the goal line to give the United States the cushion it would need.
After dispatching Latvia rather easily 5-1 on Thursday in its opener, the U.S. has six points in the standings, matching Canada, going into the final day of the preliminary round.
The U.S. finishes round-robin play against Germany, while the Canadians face France (0-2-0). If each win in regulation, the No. 1 spot in the single-elimination knockout round will come down to goal differential.
