Versatile Forward Returns To Golden Knights' Practice In Non-Contact Jersey

Nicolas Roy returned to the Vegas Golden Knights' practice in a red non-contact jersey.

Nicolas Roy returned to the Vegas Golden Knights' practice in a red non-contact jersey.

Roy has been out since Dec. 15 with an upper-body injury. Roy's ailment was first called maintenance before it forced him to miss multiple practices and a game, eventually leading to a stint on the injured reserve.

The Golden Knights haven't missed a beat when anyone has been out of the lineup but the players and coaching staff are missing the versatility Roy provides. Throughout the 2024-25 campaign, Roy has seen ice time in the top six and the bottom six, on the wing or as a centre and on both power play units.

His unique skill set and frame allow him to play everywhere in the lineup and thrive with any linemates.

The 27-year-old's return in a non-contact uniform is a positive sign that he is nearing a return but not an imminent one. He did not participate in any line rushes and will need to have at least one practice where he receives contact before returning to game action.
