Howden suspended for hit on Seattle's Brandon Tanev in the third period of the Golden Knights 4-1 victory on Tuesday.
The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden for two games without pay.
Howden delivered an illegal check at the six-minute mark to Seattle's Brandon Tanev in the Golden Knights' 4-1 victory on Tuesday.
Howden has no prior history with the league.

Howden's suspension, combined with William Carrier's injury, leaves Vegas down two forwards.
Pavel Dorofeyev, who was a healthy scratch in the opener, will fill one of the those roles. He will likely play on the third line with William Karlsson and Michael Amadio. Paul Cotter, who started Thursday on that line, would replace Howden on the second line with Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone.
Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said in the case that Howden was suspended, the team will call up Jonas Rondbjerg from Henderson of the American Hockey League.
Rondbjerg played in 13 games last season for the Golden Knights and has 43 career NHL games with two goals and five assists. He will slot into the fourth line with Nicolas Roy and Keegan Kolesar.
"It's a little more about replacing Will," Cassidy said. "It's more about who's the best fit to fill spots. 'Ronny' is probably the best fit going up."
