Immensely talented but has had off-ice issues in the past, Trevor Connelly could be a target for the Vegas Golden Knights if they believe he has worked to improve.

Born on Feb. 28, 2006, the Tustin, California-born forward is considered one of the most skilled players in the entire draft. Blessed with blazing speed and quick hands, Connelly is a threat to score every time he steps onto the ice. To go along with his speed and stick-handling ability are his edge-work and agility. He keeps defenders on their heels and opens up time and space.

When he creates that time and space, he is both a great playmaker and also has a capable shot.

The 6'1, 161 lbs winger played in the USHL this season with the Tri-City Storm. In 52 games he scored 31 goals and 78 points. He finished seventh in goals and second in points across the entire USHL.

Connelly won a silver medal with Team USA at the U-18s and scored four goals and nine points in seven games. He took a crucial five-minute penalty in the gold medal game that ultimately cost his team.

The 18-year-old is heading to Providence College next season to continue his development. He'll have to work on becoming a better defensive player and he'll need to fill out his frame before thinking about taking the jump to the NHL.

Connelly can be found in different spots on almost every draft board. Some have him on the cusp of the top 10, most in the top 15-25 range and oddly enough some scouts have him outside of the first-round.

If the Golden Knights are looking to add a high0ceiling player to their prospect pool, Connelly might be their best option.
