HC Bruce Cassidy's decision to start Adin Hill in Game 6 proved correct as he stopped all 23 shots he faced, to pick up the shutout for the Vegas Golden Knights.
With the series tied at 2-2, Cassidy made a decision that surprised everyone. After Logan Thompson had performed tremendously in the first four games of the series. Cassidy chose to go with the experience of Hill.
The Golden Knights lost Game 5 and Hill looked shaky at times but it was a completely different story in Game 6. The 27-year-old was locked in from puck drop and willed the Golden Knights to win at points of the game.
Hill made a trio of stops in quick succession early in the second period and it proved to be a huge moment in the game.
The Canadian netminder shutting the door allowed the Golden Knights to play calm, cool and collected. Their offence was finally rewarded when Noah Hanifin picked up a loose puck and beat Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger.
Hill played unbelievably for the Golden Knights in last year's run to the Stanley Cup. He's called on his past success instead of his troubling play before the playoffs began.
Game 7 is on Sunday in Dallas and they'll need Hill to be every bit as good as he was in Game 6.
