Former Vegas Golden Knight Nick Cousins and the Florida Panthers won their first Stanley Cup after beating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 7.
The Panthers once had a commanding 3-0 series lead but the Oilers flipped a switch and the Panthers took their foot off of the gas and saw themselves tied at 3-3 and heading to a Game 7.
Cousins wasn't the most influential player on the Panthers' roster en route to the Stanley Cup triumph but still featured in 12 games. In the finals, Cousins featured in just one game which was the Oilers' 5-1 victory in Game 6.
The 30-year-old was part of the Panthers team that lost to the Golden Knights in the 2022-23 Stanley Cup finals.
Cousins only played in seven regular games with the Golden Knights during the 2019-20 season but was a regular during their playoff run scoring five points in 17 games.
The Ottawa native was once a third-round pick in the 2011 draft and has had to work hard to carve out a role in the NHL. He paid his dues in the AHL and can now call himself a Stanley Cup champion.
