Twelve Vegas Golden Knights were polled for Super Bowl 59, and it was an even split, with six choosing the two-time defending champion Chiefs and six picking the Eagles.

LAS VEGAS -- Meredith Gaudreau reposted a photo to her Instagram story and dedicated the caption to her late husband, Johnny, as the two were celebrating a close couple's wedding.

The bride's original post read, "A man with a heart of gold and the life of the party," toasting Johnny.

Meredith added a caption to the shared post: "Always be my wedding date."

The wedding they were attending earlier in August? Noah and Monique Hanifin.

Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, were killed by a drunk driver while riding bicycles in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, on Aug. 29.

A little more than five months later, Hanifin will have his good buddy on his mind when the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles take the field in New Orleans for Super Bowl 59 this Sunday.

Hanifin participated in a Super Bowl poll of the Vegas Golden Knights locker room before the team headed out of town for four games, and before the 4 Nations Faceoff, and there was no doubt which team he was taking.

"I'm not a fan of either team being a Boston guy, but I'm gonna go with Philly for this one," Hanifin said. "Johnny Gaudreau is one of my good buddies, and he was a massive Philadelphia Eagles fan, so I think this is their year to get it done.

"I know he'd be pretty pumped to watch 'em in the Super Bowl, so I'm hoping they win."

Of the 12 Golden Knights polled, there was a perfect split with six taking the Eagles and the other six predicting the Chiefs would win their third straight Super Bowl.

Here is what the Golden Knights had to say:

ADIN HILL: "Kansas City. I don't know, you can't, it's like (Tom) Brady. You can't bet against Brady, you can't bet against Mahomes. So yeah, I think, I don't know they got Andy Reid at head coach. I think their defense is unreal, so I think they'll find a way to get it. It might not be the prettiest game but I think they'll find a way."

PAVEL DOROFEYEV: "Oh, it's a tough question. I think Philadelphia, the Eagles. I'll take the Eagles."

BRETT HOWDEN: Who do I think or who do I want? Well, I would like to see the Eagles win. But I have a feeling the Chiefs are gonna pull through again. They always do. They always find a way."

NIC ROY: "Kansas City. Can't bet against them. They got the refs on their side, they got the best QB in the league, and best coach. So, I gotta go with them."

ZACH WHITECLOUD: "Eagles, because I got them in our team draft. Me and (Nic) Haguer. Fly, Eagles fly."

NIC HAGUE: "I want the Eagles to win because I have them in a playoff pool with Whitey."

BEN HUTTON: "Kansas City. They've been there, they've done that, they have Mahomes. Yeah, I think I think they're winning it."

RAPHAEL LAVOIE: "I mean, you gotta go K.C. They're hot, they just have that it-factor. I mean, they've been there, they've done it before."

SHEA THEODORE: "I kind of hope Philly takes it. I mean, I think, you watch all the calls, it seems to go toward the Chiefs. I think it'd be good for Hurts to take one to get their rings."

TANNER PEARSON: "I think it should be a good game. It's hard to go against Kansas City right now. I have in the past, and it hasn't worked in my favor. So I'll say, I think it depends if they stop Saquon (Barkley) or not. But I'll go Kansas City."

KEEGAN KOLESAR: "I honestly haven't been following the playoffs at all. Who's in the finals? I think the Eagles will probably win. I think Saquon (Barkley) is having a pretty good year, right? So, you gotta go with the hot hand. But I guess it is the Chiefs, and (Patrick) Mahomes knows how to win the scenarios. But, I don't know, could be a tossup. I think the Eagles are gonna win."
