With a three-game road trip looming, the Vegas Golden Knights have made some roster adjustments.
Goaltender Carl Lindbom has been recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights, an indicator that Adin Hill won’t be making it on the road. Alongside Lindbom, defenseman Jaycob Megna was also recalled from the Silver Knights.
Hill was fresh off his first win of the season, on Saturday, when he made 26 saves during a 6-1 win over visiting Calgary.
Hill left Monday's game with what appeared to be a leg injury midway through the first period and was tended to on the ice by trainer Kyle Moore before being helped to the bench by teammate Zach Whitecloud and William Karlsson. He slowly made his way down the tunnel to the locker room.
He was replaced by Akira Schmid, who is now 4-0 with a 4-1 win over Carolina on Monday. Schmid now sits at 2.71 goals-against average and has a .902 save percentage.
What began as a promising stretch for Vegas has quickly shifted, as the team adjusts to a growing list of injuries.
Key absences include captain Mark Stone, center Brett Howden, and defenseman Noah Hanifin, who was recently placed on injured reserve.
Having played in a total of 38 games with the Silver Knights, Lindbom has a 2.56 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage during his career in Henderson.
Megna was recently named as the 5th captain in HSK history, following his AHL leadership career by being named captain twice, for San Jose and San Diego, and was an alternate in Chicago.
