Vegas Golden Knights forward Alexander Holtz has found his offensive stride since coming over from the New Jersey Devils and has seen his point streak reach five games.

The Golden Knights were once again on the losing side of a road game, suffering a 6-3 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings. Despite the loss, three young Golden Knights players picked up points. Pavel Dorofeyev netted two goals, Kaedan Korczak picked up an assist and was on the ice for two of the Golden Knights' goals and none from the Kings and Holtz registered an assist on Tanner Pearson's second-period tally.

With the primary assist, Holtz extended his point streak to a career-high five games, accumulating one goal and four assists.

HC Bruce Cassidy spoke to VGKRadioNetwork last week after Holtz scored his first of the season and praised his game.

"Listen he's a good kid," said Cassidy. "He wants to help the team win. He's a goal scorer, wingers that have that mindset, you have to make sure that, 'ok we're not going to take that away from you, we want you to be a goal scorer and you have scored in the league and we hope that keeps going but there's other parts of the game when you're not scoring that you have to be mindful of and don't lose sight of those things.' I was happy to see him get one, it was a forecheck goal, so it wasn't lucky and everyone did their part. Anyway good for, he's a streaky kind of guy and hope he gets going from there."

Holtz has had an up-and-down career since he was drafted seventh overall in 2020 by the Devils. When they selected him, they envisioned him being the goal-scoring winger on Jack Hughes' wing but disputes with coaches and management resulted in a trade. The Devils were at times impatient with Holtz, punishing him for each defensive error.

To start the season, the 22-year-old is averaging the most time on ice of his career and after six games without registering a point, he's built chemistry with fellow Swede William Karlsson and the two of them are producing.

"He's such a good player in every aspect of the game," said Holtz about Karlsson. "It's really fun to be on a line with him and hopefully we can continue to have good chemistry throughout the season."

If the Stockholm, SWE native can continue to string together positive offensive results without losing the forechecking and defensive responsibilities he's garnered, his role will continue to elevate.
