
The Washington Capitals will be featured on national television 18 times this upcoming season, starting with the season opener on Oct. 8.
Eight games will be on TNT, four on ESPN and three on ABC, while three games will be streaming exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu.
The Capitals' opener against the Boston Bruins will be on TNT, and their second home game of the season against the Tampa Bay Lightning will be available on ESPN.
This is also the first time in years Washington will not play in a Super Bowl Sunday game, as the league is on its Olympic break with several players heading to Milan to play for their respective countries. The break is Feb. 6-24.

Washington Capitals winger Tom Wilson is on the right track as he works toward his dream of representing Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, as he's earned an invite to <a href="https://www.tsn.ca/hockey-canada/hockey-canada-invites-92-men-s-women-s-and-para-hockey-players-for-orientation-camp-in-calgary-1.2341844">Hockey Canada's National Teams Orientation Camp</a>.
Washington will also be featured nationally six times during their final seven-game stretch of the regular season, with Alex Ovechkin remaining undecided on his future and in the final year of his contract. Those games include a pair of home-and-home showdowns against longtime rivals Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In addition to the broadcast schedule, the Capitals announced four time changes from the original schedule: Nov. 6 at the Pittsburgh Penguins (from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.), Dec. 23 vs. the New York Rangers (from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.), Jan. 29 at the Detroit Red Wings (from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) and April 2 at the New Jersey Devils (from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)
