The Capitals blueliner missed the start of camp due to issues with his visa.

ARLINGTON, V.A. — Rasmus Sandin is officially back in the District, as the Washington Capitals defenseman has arrived at MedStar Capitals Iceplex after visa issues held him out for the start of training camp.
Per head coach Spencer Carbery, Sandin is back and could be on the ice as soon as Thursday.
The 24-year-old blueliner is expected to suit up for a preseason game after he gets reacclimated. He'll be good to go for the regular season.
Though he'll have to make up for lost time, he's expected to play a key role on the team's top-4 this coming season.
Sandin is coming off a bit of a tough season in 2023-24, where he had three goals and 20 assists, along with a plus/minus of minus-13, through 68 games last season. He is looking to come back stronger for this year as he will likely be paired up with Matt Roy.
With Sandin out, Roy will make his preseason debut for the Capitals on Tuesday alongside Martin Fehervary.
