The Winnipeg Jets look to extend their franchise best start to the season Thursday night when taking on the Seattle Kraken on the road. The Jets look for their seventh straight win and mark their hottest run of games dating back to April of last season when they went into the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak.
Seattle has only played Winnipeg nine times in their franchise's history with the Jets winning seven of the nine games. The Kraken routinely have a troubling time slowing down the Jets offence as they've allowed three or more goals in eight of the nine games.
Seattle's defence is much improved so far this season with a top-12 goals against average at 2.86 and the eighth-lowest shots on goal allowed with a 27.7 average. Their recent acquisition of defenceman Brandon Montour looks to be a factor as he is averaging over 24 minutes of ice time and has a goal and three assists for four points through seven games so far this season.
The Jets red hot offence will need to find a way to stay hot and should be lead by star winger Kyle Connor. The Michigan native has goals in four straight games heading into Thursday and has a stellar history versus the Kraken with points in all but one of his nine career games against Seattle, recording seven goals and five assists for 12 points.
Forward Cole Perfetti should also make his presence felt as his second line unit has been rolling lately with the 22-year-old recording three assists in one period in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Catch the game on Sportsnet at 9:00 PM MT, or catch the live broadcast on Power 97, the FM home of the Winnipeg Jets. If you are in the Seattle area, tickets are reasonable for Jets versus the Kraken with the lowest pair being sold at roughly $45 USD.
