The Winnipeg Jets have won six of their last ten matchups versus the Columbus Blue Jackets

Kyle Connor Post-game

The Winnipeg Jets look to stay undefeated on the road when taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday. It should be a tighter matchup than expected as the Jets have narrowly edged out the Blue Jackets for six wins over their last ten meetings.

Columbus has also started off the season with an impressive 5-3-1 record, highlighted by impactful wins over the Leafs, Oilers and Avalanche. This is a game the Jets can't take lightly as the Blue Jackets offence can be dangerous, averaging 3.89 goals per game.

Winnipeg will need to shut down Columbus' top line of Yegor Chinakhov, Sean Monahan and Kirill Marchenko, who have 12 of the Blue Jackets' 35 goals this season.

The Blue Jackets rank top seven in goals against average at 2.78 but will have a new challenge of containing Winnipeg's Kyle Connor. The Michigan native is second in the league in goals (9) and tied for fifth in points (17) through ten games.

Connor normally does well against Columbus as he's recorded four goals and two assists for six points over their last six matchups. Winnipeg's defence is often elite with the best goals against average at 2.41 dating back to last season.

They have started to slip on the defensive end however as they've allowed three or more goals in five of their last seven games. It'll make for a very tight game and certainly an exciting one to cap off the week.

Catch the game on Sportsnet at 6:00 PM MT, or catch the live broadcast on Power 97, the FM home of the Winnipeg Jets. If you are in the Columbus area, tickets are very reasonable for Jets versus the Blue Jackets with the lowest pair being sold at roughly $20USD.
